WooCommerce Order Status Control

WooCommerce Order Status Control is an official WooCommerce extension designed for stores that need to automate the order completion process. By default, WooCommerce only automatically marks paid orders containing virtual and downloadable products as completed. This extension expands that control so you can decide exactly which types of paid orders should go directly to the completed status, without manual intervention.

The tool is especially intended for businesses that receive a high volume of automatic payments and do not require intermediate actions between payment and delivery. Digital product stores, automated services, subscriptions, or any ecommerce that does not manage physical shipping will find in this extension a way to eliminate the operational bottleneck of reviewing orders one by one.

With WooCommerce Order Status Control, you can configure, from the General tab of WooCommerce settings, which of the following auto-complete options you want to apply:

• No orders: prevents any order from being completed automatically, even those containing virtual and downloadable products.
• All paid orders: forces the automatic completion of all orders that have been paid correctly, regardless of product type.
• Paid orders with virtual products: allows auto-completion of orders containing virtual products, without requiring them to be downloadable.
• Virtual and downloadable orders: maintains WooCommerce's default behavior, completing only orders with products that are both virtual and downloadable.

When an order meets the configured criteria and is paid, it skips the processing status and goes directly to completed, which is automatically documented in the order notes. This streamlines store management, reduces manual work, and minimizes human errors.

Configuration is extremely simple and takes less than a minute. Once set, you won't have to worry about manually changing the status of paid orders again. It is important to note that the extension only acts on orders that have been effectively paid through methods that confirm payment, so methods such as bank transfer, checks, or cash on delivery will not trigger auto-completion.
