wpDiscuz User & Comment Mentioning is an official extension of the wpDiscuz comment system for WordPress that transforms comment sections into spaces for social and interactive conversation. This plugin allows users to mention other participants using the @username tag and reference specific comments using #comment-id, replicating the social media experience within your website.

The plugin is aimed at WordPress site administrators who want to foster a more active and connected community. Blogs, forums, news sites, and any platform with an active comment section benefit greatly from this functionality, as it makes it easy for users to address each other directly and maintain smoother, more organized conversations.

When writing a comment, the user only needs to insert the @ symbol and start typing the username; the plugin performs an automatic search and suggests users to mention. Once the comment is published, the mentioned person receives an email notification, ensuring that no interaction goes unnoticed. Similarly, each comment displays its ID in the top right corner, allowing users to reference specific comments with tags like #17, and the author of that comment also receives an email notification.

Mentions become interactive links within the comment list. Hovering over an @username or #comment-id link opens a popup with the avatar, name, and information of the mentioned user, or with the text and author of the referenced comment. Clicking navigates directly to the user's page or the original comment, improving navigation and context without leaving the page.

The plugin offers comprehensive configuration options from the admin panel. Administrators can enable or disable each feature individually, customize the content of notification emails for user and comment mentions, and control the sending of email notifications. Everything is managed from the plugins tab in wpDiscuz settings.

It is important to note that this plugin requires the rich comment editor to be enabled and at least version 7.0.0 of wpDiscuz to be used.
