WooCommerce Split Orders

WooCommerce Split Orders is an official WooCommerce extension designed to solve a very specific problem in online stores: managing complex orders that need to be split into several independent orders. When a customer makes a purchase with multiple products that require separate shipping, different suppliers, or different logistics flows, keeping everything in a single order can block daily operations. This extension allows you to move product lines to new orders to process them independently, always maintaining full traceability.

How it works is simple and intuitive. From the WooCommerce admin panel, on the detail page of any order, a Split order button appears that opens a dialog where you can specify the quantity of each product line you want to separate and the shipping amount that will be transferred to the new order. When you confirm the split, a new order is automatically created assigned to the same customer, with billing and shipping details copied from the original order. Each split is recorded in the order notes, both in the original and the new one, so you never lose track of the operation.

One of the most notable advantages is the Split Parts panel, which appears on all orders that have been split and shows an overview of all parts that come from the same original order. This greatly facilitates navigation between related orders and prevents any part from being left unmanaged. Additionally, the Split From column in the orders table links each split order to its original order, even if successive splits are made.

The extension is designed for stores with multiple suppliers, separate shipments, mixed catalogs, or any operation that requires treating each part of an order independently. With this tool, you can update the status of each order separately, add tracking information, send individual notifications, and perform any other action you would normally do with a standard order. It requires no additional configuration after activation, although it offers optional settings in WooCommerce > Settings > Orders to adapt its behavior to the specific needs of each store.
