Ultimate Member Private Messages is an official extension of the Ultimate Member ecosystem that adds a complete private messaging system to your WordPress site. Designed for communities, membership sites, and platforms with registered users, this extension allows members to communicate with each other directly and privately, without having to leave your site or expose email addresses.

The extension integrates natively with Ultimate Member user profiles and member directories. Each user profile can display a message button, and member directories can also include messaging buttons to facilitate contact between users. Conversations are organized into threads, allowing users to maintain a clear and orderly history of their exchanges.

Among its most notable features are email notifications when a user receives a new message, automatic reminders if a message has not been read, and the ability to set a character limit per message. It also allows blocking specific users so they cannot send or receive messages, and offers the option to show conversations with unread messages first.

An advanced feature is message encryption in the database, which requires the PHP Sodium extension and helps protect the privacy of communications. Additionally, the extension includes shortcodes such as [ultimatemember_message_button], [ultimatemember_message_count], and [ultimatemember_messages], offering total flexibility to place message buttons, unread message counters, and messaging boxes anywhere on the site.

The interface is fully responsive, working correctly on mobile and desktop devices. Users can download their conversation history, and administrators can customize the primary color of the messaging interface to match the site's visual identity.
