FacetWP Advanced Filtering Plugin

FacetWP is a powerful advanced filtering and faceted search plugin for WordPress, designed for sites with large volumes of content where the standard search is no longer enough. Created by Matt Gibbs, this plugin has been refined for over a decade and has become a benchmark in the WordPress ecosystem for online stores, directories, job boards, real estate websites, and any project that needs to help visitors find content quickly.

The plugin works by creating facets, which are interface elements such as checkboxes, dropdown menus, sliders, date ranges, color selectors, and even geographic proximity filters. These facets combine with each other so users can refine results intuitively and in real time, without page reloads thanks to its built-in AJAX engine. FacetWP uses an optimized index table that ensures filtering is practically instantaneous even on sites with thousands of posts or products.

One of its great advantages is that it works with the data already on your site: custom post types, custom fields, and taxonomies. This means you don't need to restructure your content to start filtering it. Additionally, it integrates natively with WooCommerce to filter products by attributes, price, category, and more, and offers compatibility with Advanced Custom Fields, Elementor, Beaver Builder, Relevanssi, ElasticPress, and other popular plugins through free official add-ons.

The plugin includes a visual Listing Builder that allows you to design the presentation of results without writing code, although it also offers a development mode for those who prefer to work with PHP and custom hooks. You can display facets anywhere on your page using shortcodes, WordPress editor blocks, or directly with PHP. Additional features such as result sorting, pagination, infinite scroll, and a load more button are integrated.

FacetWP is designed for both developers and non-technical users. Its admin interface is clear and accessible, and its documentation is comprehensive and always up to date. If you manage a site with a lot of content and want your visitors to find exactly what they're looking for in a few clicks, reducing abandonment and increasing conversions, FacetWP is a proven, lightweight, and extremely fast solution.
