Download Monitor Enhanced Metrics is an official extension for WordPress designed for those who already manage downloads on their site and need to go beyond the simple download counter. Developed by Never5, the team behind Download Monitor, this extension transforms raw download data into actionable insights directly from the WordPress admin panel.

The extension significantly expands the reports section of Download Monitor. In the overview tab, you can select a wide variety of periods for your reports or choose a completely custom one from the built-in calendar. Additionally, you can compare the current period with previous ones to verify your growth, and export download data in CSV format. The download information table shows more complete data: completed, redirected, and failed downloads, downloads with or without a session started, categories, and tags. You can also filter the displayed downloads by name, category, or tag, and control which columns you want to see in the table.

In the detailed reports section, you can filter downloads by status (completed, redirected, or failed), by user, category, download name, and location. As a bonus, you will have a separate table with your most active users, allowing you to identify behavior patterns and segment your audience effectively.

The extension also includes general report settings accessible from Downloads > Settings > Advanced > Reports. You can configure the maximum log duration to avoid running out of hosting space, choose whether to store the IP addresses of users who download your files, and enable unique IP counting so that each download is only recorded once per IP address.
