BuddyPress User Badges

BuddyPress User Badges is a premium plugin developed by BuddyDev that adds a complete badge system to BuddyPress-based communities. This plugin allows administrators to create any number of custom badges and assign them to users, either manually or automatically, enriching the community experience and encouraging participation.

The plugin offers three types of badges: custom badges freely created by the administrator, badges based on WordPress roles, and badges based on BuddyPress member types. Custom badges can include a name, slug, description, link, and image, allowing total flexibility to adapt them to the specific needs of each community. Role-based badges are assigned automatically according to the user's role in WordPress, while member-type-based badges are linked to the member categories defined in BuddyPress.

Badges are displayed in key community locations: in the member directory, on user profile pages, in group member lists, and in bbPress forum replies. Additionally, the plugin includes a shortcode [bp-user-badges] that allows listing users who have a specific badge, with support for two different views and control over the maximum number of users displayed.

The plugin is compatible with BuddyBoss Platform and the BuddyBoss theme, as well as the Youzer theme for the member directory and profile header. It also offers compatibility with the BP Nouveau template pack and BuddyPress Legacy. Administrators can disable the default CSS if they want to style the badges with their own code.

From the admin panel, management is simple: access Users > Badges to create, edit, or deactivate badges, and each badge can be activated or deactivated individually. Assigning custom badges to users is done from the user editing screen, where a dedicated section appears with the available active badges.

This plugin is ideal for communities that want to recognize achievements, special roles, or membership categories in a visual and attractive way, improving member identity and fostering a sense of belonging and status within the community.
